We are now seeking an experienced CT Staff Nurse to join our team in Affidea - Dundrum for the 12 month fixed term contract

We have a 12 month fixed term contract available for a CT Nurse in our clinic in Dundrum
The CT Nurse is responsible for delivering exceptional, patient‑centered nursing care in a clinical environment. This role involves assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care for patients undergoing CT examinations and related procedures. The CT Nurse will ensure safe and seamless patient preparation, support clinical teams during procedures, and uphold the highest standards of clinical practice, safety, and communication
Responsibilities and tasks
Provide direct, high‑quality nursing care to patients attending for CT Scans
Prepare patients for procedures by explaining the process clearly, addressing questions, and ensuring informed cooperation.
Physically prepare patients for imaging, including assisting with clothing removal, gowning, and positioning on the CT table.
Start intravenous cannulas and administer IV fluids or contrast media safely, following clinical guidelines.
Administer contrast preparations (e.g., barium enemas/solutions) when required.
Monitor patients before, during, and after procedures, escalating concerns promptly to the radiology or medical team.
Provide post‑procedure instructions and ensure safe patient recovery and discharge.
Serve as a key liaison between patients and the CT/radiology team, ensuring clear communication and a supportive experience.
Maintain accurate, timely, and complete documentation in patient medical records.
Adhere strictly to contrast safety protocols, including recognition and management of adverse reactions.
Follow all radiation safety guidelines and infection‑control standards within the imaging environment.
Demonstrate initiative, flexibility, and strong problem‑solving skills in managing workload and supporting team needs.
Participate in audits, service reviews, and quality‑assurance activities
Job requirements
Qualifications & Experience
Registered General Nurse (RGN) with active registration with NMBI.
3 yrs + postgraduate experience ideally in radiology, A&E or acute care setting.
Strong IV cannulation and phlebotomy skills (or willingness to complete training).
Knowledge of contrast safety, anaphylaxis management, and relevant clinical protocols.
Excellent communication, teamwork, and critical‑thinking skills.
