We are now hiring a Minor Injuries Doctor for our ExpressCare in Cork
The MIU Doctor will provide high-quality medical care to patients with minor injuries and illnesses. This role requires excellent clinical skills, the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment, and a commitment to patient-centered care.
Responsibilities:
• Assess, diagnose, and treat patients presenting with minor injuries and illnesses.
• Engage in on-going clinical supervision and case discussion weekly.
• Responsible for the maintenance of a high standard of patient care which is achieved through professional education and development.
• Perform minor surgical procedures, such as suturing and wound care.
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests, including X-rays.
• Review reports of xrays and MRI scans and communicate these results to patients.
• Provide patient education on injury prevention and management.
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including nurses and radiologists, to ensure comprehensive patient care.
• Acts on feedback received on recording of patient care and care provided.
• Attends onsite or offsite continuous professional development session.
• The service is supported by weekly fracture clinics provided by orthopaedic consultants and physiotherapy
• Liaise with the Lead Doctor and Nurse in the clinics and provide feedback to the organisation on any adverse events or quality improvement initiatives you fell to be relevant.
Job requirements
Eligibility Criteria:
Active IMC Registration
Fluent English
Experience in Emergency Medicine, Orthopaedics, Plastics, Paediatrics & General Medicine
Experience scanning Ultrasound
