We are actively recruiting for a CT Radiographer for our new service in Blanchardstown, Dublin
Responsibilities and tasks
To perform radiographic examinations under the remit of the scope of services offered by the centre.
To be professionally responsible for all aspects of your own work.
To maintain the highest standards of patient care and report any discrepancies found in that regard.
Be responsible for specific aspects of service activities as may be delegated from time to time by either the Centre Operations Manager or the Lead Clinical Specialist
Be conversant with, and observe, radiation safety local rules.
Observe systems of dose reduction-Justification, Optimisation (ALARA), Limitation.
Be aware and fully informed of the implications of the new legislation relating to Ionising radiation in particular reference to SI 30 & SI 256.
Make use of radiation protective devices.
Observe departmental policy regarding radiological examination of women of reproductive capacity.
Observe practices that protect yourself, the patient and others from direct and scattered radiation.
Accept only those requests, which are properly authorised in accordance with established criteria, and where requests are for examinations that will be of benefit to the patient.
Ensure that patient understands the nature of the examination, and that patients consent is obtained prior to carrying out any examination.
Assist in the safe transfer and movement of patients under their care.
Strive to achieve optimum quality radiograph first time i.e.: careful consideration to patient identification, justification of examination, relevant clinical history, preparation of patient, patient positioning, choice of imaging equipment and film/ screen combination, use of anatomical markers, selection of exposure factors, image processing, identification labelling of images.
Ensure that each examination is fully completed.
Keep a record of every radiological examination carried out, noting screening times, radiation doses and other statistics where appropriate.
Keep abreast in understanding and knowledge of all new developments applicable to radiography.
Comply with departmental policies service
Participate in the staff development and individual performance review process
Job requirements
Qualifications:
3+ years satisfactory post-qualification experience in CT
Diploma from the College of Radiographers (D) or a qualification that is at least equivalent
CORU Registration
