Job description

The Affidea Group is one of the most successful European healthcare diagnostics imaging companies, we have over 400 staff within our Irish clinics. The business operates diagnostic imaging and minor injuries centres around the country, offering a broad range of cutting-edge imaging technology and healthcare services to the public, insurers, employers and other organisation.

Our Finance team is growing and we are now seeking an accountant to join the team.

As an integral member of a compact finance team, the accountant is part of the support team to our clinics, in their delivery of excellent patient care. This person is responsible for completing month-end close activities, under IFRS, to tight reporting deadlines, to support our plc parent’s reporting timelines. These activities will include but not limited to posting to the ERP system of AP invoices, preparation and posting of bulk revenue files, payroll posting, treasury functions, whilst ensuring accurate financial practices are observed. As part of a flat team structure, this position reports directly to the CFO, which allows the opportunity to influence and be involved in the decision-making progress

Responsibilities:

  • Support the preparation and analysis of monthly accounts, ensuring accuracy and timeliness. All other duties throughout the month ultimately feed the closing process. 

  • Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations, identifying and resolving discrepancies proactively. Ensure all intercompany transactions are posted according to required cost, function and partner codes.

  • Complete transactions as required and support the daily activity reporting and analysis.

  • Assist in the monthly billing cycle, reviewing customer invoices for accuracy, completeness and timely issuance. Prepare and load bulk customer invoice files.

  • Prepare payroll posting for 3 companies and provide headcount and FTE analysis from the payroll reports and updating relevant accrual postings.

  • Prepare the IFRS 16 transactions for Ireland and Northern Ireland, completing the monthly journals, additions and retirements and review the restoration cost data for posting on a quarterly basis.

  • Ad-hoc processing of vendor invoices to support the team, as required, and prepare payment run drafts.

  • Support the interim and final audits both with Group and Local Auditors.

  • Support the CFO and colleagues with any ah-hoc requests for support and assistance to complete any required information requests.

  • Recommend and implement improvements to finance processes and systems.

Job requirements

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Either a recognised accountancy qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) or a minimum of 3 years’ relevant finance experience in an IFRS or group environment.

  • Strong understanding of financial reporting and accounting principles. 

  • Experience with multi-entity and multi-currency accounting is desirable. 

  • Proficient in accounting software (Sage Intacct) and Advanced Excel

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. 

  • Proactive, detail-oriented and able to manage multiple priorities
